Cottage living during the winter is not for the faint at heart. The area gets a ton of snow and is known as a winter wonderland.

ARE YOU WINTER RENTAL MATERIAL:

We want you to have a great holiday - but winter rental is not for everyone. Some things to keep in mind if you are thinking about renting during the winter:

    - The hydro may go off periodically. Although the blackouts do NOT last long, they do happen. There are candles for these romantic candle-light times.

    - A plowed driveway is a luxury, so your car may have to be shovelled out. Or spent your time sliding down the hill or build a fort and have a snow ball fight.

    - You might not be able to drive right to the front door. In this case the drive way makes a great toboggen hill.

    - it is COLD. And there is lots of SNOW. Really... the way winter should be.
